The founding purpose of GCI is to elevate Global Consciousness as a field of study, to transform education and economic practices and policies, and to provide strategic and energetic focus for the nurturing of change agents and leaders. GCI exists to activate a collective experience of oneness globally, enabling humanity to exist in harmony with all life. Humanity - each of us individually and all of us collectively - has the opportunity to move towards an ascending spiral of shared commitment to the development of our full potential, flourishing with all living things, and to an increased sense of our connectedness with each other and with the planet. We recognize that there is a collective stirring in the hearts and souls of a significant number of people in the world who want to contribute to this upward spiral of collective flourishing and loving harmony. There is an energetic movement emerging that has not been named and is not controlled or supported by any one individual or organization. It is organic and is aligned with evolutionary science. Given this global movement, at GCI we ask ourselves, what are we called to do that is unique to us as individuals and as an emergent organization? And what is our Theory of Change that will guide us in how we make that unique contribution? We are in the process of studying various models of change, transformation, and movement building to guide our strategic efforts so that GCI can have a highly leveraged impact on the world. The need to act is both urgent and evolutionary. Some of our basic assumptions are: 1. Despite current evidence to the contrary, humanity is evolving. 2. The metacrises we are experiencing are motivating global change. 3. Strategies and programs arise from developmental stage theories of individual and collective consciousness. 4. Viable approaches must integrate science and living wisdom. 5. Transformative education is a key lever in shifting into collective consciousness. 6. GCI is uniquely positioned to support the development of global consciousness as a field of study and practice in higher education and leadership development.   Several models that have influenced including: 1.
